More free music from Epitonic … and cool Diesel ads!
Sometimes I just can’t figure out why people have to steal music. There are more and more legal sources of music, and I can now download more free music than I have time to listen to!

Quite a number of years ago, I came across BeSonic“the free MP3 download portal” … and I’ll go there every now and then and queue up a couple of hundred songs to download. Today I found another similar site!

One of the bands that I really like is The Grassy Knoll. Today I did a search on Google to see if they might have a new CD out … and I found Epitonic“your source for cutting edge music”. The title of their web site says “Hi Quality Free and Legal MP3 Music” and that is what I found. No only did I get three new cuts of The Grassy Knoll (and found out about their new CD) I grabbed about a hundred other songs. As an added benefit, I even got to see some of the new Diesel ads being done by AirLock … very cool stuff.

So now I have two sources of more music that I could every want. So why steal music from people who don’t want to give it away?

Skiing with my MP3 Player and Cell Phone …
With this latest snow fall (which is still going as of today!) I can only start thinking about getting out and doing some skiing and snowboarding. Lately when I have been going, I like to take some CDs or an MP3 player. Of course I also carry my cell phone.

One of the problems with this is how do you listen to tunes, and also be aware of your cell phone? Well, a little company called Skull Candy from Park City, Utah has a solution. With their product, I can plug a single set of headphones into my MP3 or CD player, and my cell phone at the same time. I can then listen to tunes, and hear my phone ring. I can answer the phone and then return to my listening.

I’m really thinking of getting one of these to try. The one limitation that I can think of is that I carry three devices with me … not two. When I ski or board, I’m always carrying my tunes, my cell phone, and a Motorola FRS radio. My friends and family use the FRS radios to stay in touch on the slopes.

WarBlading …
It was a very cool experience last night … I went WarBlading for the first time … and it worked! Although the temperatures were very hot, and the machine croaked a couple of times, I was able to rollerblade around Salt Lake City last night with my Xybernaut wearable computer, with a GPS connected, running NetStumbler, searching for 802.11b access points …

What really hit me is that this is going to be big … very big … and goes far beyond mapping 802.11b access points … just wait. 😉

Next generation cell phones …
This is a the coolest new cell phone that I have heard of! Wrist-watch cell phone, and it transmits the sound through the bones in your hand to your finger tip … so that you listen to the person you are talking to by putting your finger into your ear! Too cool …

Art and Music … very cool article and site …
This is a “must keep” web site … this guy is extremely creative. Not only is he modifying toys and other sounds producing devices in artistic ways, he is adding jacks and pitch controls so that they can be used by bands! You too can plug a noisy kids toy into your amp and add a whole new dimension of sound to your bands music!

Amazing job with Flash …
During the last presidential election, here in the USA, there was a great “Election Day” flash animation from JibJab making it’s rounds on the Internet. This is a similar one that is pointed at the UK and their leaders … and it is great! What fun!

An awesome Flash site … based on the work of a visionary …
I have to say that I am beyond impressed with the incredible vision and foresight of Ray Kurzweil … and this is a cool site based of this incredible book. If you have not yet read this book, it is a must read! His upcoming book on the Singularity is also bound to be awesome. I am now working on my first paper on my theories of memetics … we’ll see how it goes …
